Canvas and boclips

Posted on Posted in edtech

There are Learning Management Systems (LMS) of all shapes and sizes. As a Partner Booster Program participant, we have a special relationship with Canvas.

Search by subject, topic, or keyword in boclips.

Our curated library of three million video clips provides a resource for instructors using Canvas. Just search by subject, topic, or keyword within the boclips platform and find a video that compliments the content of any course or unit of study. A quick copy of the share link provides a resource to place within Canvas. From here, it is up to the instructor to decide how the students interact with the video.

Teachers we’ve worked with have used a variety of strategies to move students from simply consuming information via video to producing a response. The 3-2-1 strategy in which students write three things they learned, ask two questions and share one thing they enjoyed works well with Canvas.

Another favorite strategy involves allowing students to gain background information on a particular topic before the lesson or unit of study. Assigning an introductory video will enable students to obtain information in advance with a flipped, blended, or pre-unit activity.

We’d love to hear from teachers using Canvas and boclips together. Share your story with us in the comments below.

Don’t forget to get social with us. We’d love for you to join us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram!
